Lucky Name Picker is used in classrooms, offices, and living rooms by people with a wide range of abilities. We want everyone to be able to use our wheels, and we treat accessibility problems as bugs rather than feature requests.
Our Standard
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. We consider this an ongoing target rather than a finished achievement — parts of the site meet it today, and other parts are still being improved.
What We Have Done So Far
- Pages use proper heading structure so screen reader users can navigate by headings rather than reading everything in order
- The site is responsive and remains usable when zoomed or viewed on a small screen
- Text is served as real text, not as images, so it can be resized, recoloured, and read aloud
- Links are written to make sense out of context rather than relying on “click here”
- Sound effects on the wheels can be muted, and no tool requires audio to be used
- Results are displayed on screen as text, not conveyed by colour or animation alone
Known Limitations
We would rather be honest about the gaps than claim full compliance:
- The spinning animation is a core part of how the wheels work. If you are sensitive to motion, enabling “reduce motion” in your operating system settings, or simply looking away until the result appears as text, may help.
- The wheel graphic is drawn on an HTML canvas element, which screen readers cannot describe segment by segment. The winning result is announced as readable text, but the wheel itself is visual.
- Third-party advertisements are supplied by external partners. We do not control their markup, and some ad creatives may not meet the same standard as the rest of the page.

If any part of this site is difficult or impossible for you to use, please email contact@luckynamepicker.com with the subject line “Accessibility”. It helps enormously if you can tell us:
- The page address where you ran into the problem
- What you were trying to do
- Which assistive technology, browser, and device you were using
We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within 2 business days and to explain what we can fix and when. If we cannot fix something quickly, we will tell you that too, and suggest a workaround where one exists.
