This Privacy Policy explains how Lucky Name Picker (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you visit luckynamepicker.com (the “Website”) and use our free random name pickers, wheel spinners, and decision-making tools (the “Services”).

1. Information You Type Into Our Tools (Not Collected)

When you add names, options, or custom entries to the Lucky Name Picker wheel or any of our other spinners, that text is handled entirely by your own web browser using JavaScript. It is not transmitted to our servers, not written to a database, and not visible to us. When you close or refresh the page, those entries are gone.

The only thing our wheel sends back to the Website is an anonymous signal that a spin occurred, which increments a public site-wide “total spins” counter. That signal contains no names, no entries, and nothing that identifies you.

A note for teachers and organizers: because entries stay in your browser, using student or participant names in the wheel does not share them with us. Even so, we recommend using first names or nicknames only, and avoiding sensitive details, as anything on your screen may be visible to others in the room or on a shared display.

2. Information Collected Automatically

Like most websites, our hosting provider and our analytics and advertising partners automatically receive certain technical information when you visit. This may include:

  • Wheel entries: not retained at all — they never leave your browser.

  • Analytics data: retained in aggregate according to our analytics provider’s retention settings, typically no longer than 14 months for event-level data.
  • Emails and contact messages: retained for as long as needed to handle your request and keep a reasonable business record.
  • Comments: where enabled, comments and their metadata are retained indefinitely so follow-up comments can be recognized automatically. You may request deletion at any time.
  • Cookies: retained for the lifespan set by each cookie, which ranges from the end of your browsing session to up to 24 months.

We do not sell personal information for monetary payment, and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16. Global Privacy Control

Where required by law, we and our advertising partners honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal sent by supporting browsers and extensions, treating it as a valid opt-out of the sale or sharing of personal information.

Children’s Privacy

The Website is a general-audience site and is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and we do not permit personalized advertising to be served to users we know to be under 13, in line with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

We know that teachers, camp counselors, and parents sometimes use our wheels with children present. That is fine — because entries stay in the browser, no information about those children reaches us. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information through our contact form or a comment, please email contact@luckynamepicker.com and we will delete it promptly.

Data Security

The Website is served over HTTPS with a valid TLS certificate, so traffic between your browser and our server is encrypted. We keep our software and plugins updated and limit administrative access. No method of transmission or storage on the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security — but because we deliberately collect so little, there is very little about you for us to lose.

International Data Transfers

Our servers and several of our service providers are located in the United States. If you access the Website from outside the United States, the limited technical information described in this policy may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States or other countries whose data protection laws differ from those in your country.
